KNOWN ISSUES ================================================================= * Team rosters and player ratings are accurate as of July 1, 1999. Please visit the NFL Fever 2000 website to download an update of this data. The URL is http://www.microsoft.com/sports/fever2000/ * If your computer has Mindspring Internet Service Provider software installed, a program called ARMON32.EXE may be running that can cause problems when NFL Fever 2000 tries to verify that its program CD is available. To temporarily disable ARMON32.EXE and avoid the problem, hold down CTRL+ALT+DELETE to bring up the Close Program window. Find ARMON32.EXE in the list of running programs, click on it, and choose End Task. Then, launch NFL Fever 2000. * If you are running the game on Windows 95 Gold (Windows 95 version 950), you may not hear audio in the game. To correct this, install audio compression. To do this, click Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Windows Setup. Under Components, select Multimedia, then click the Details button. Check the Audio Compression box and click OK. Make sure the Multimedia box is checked, and click OK. Then, restart NFL Fever 2000. * Certain CD-ROM drives may have difficulty playing audio during NFL Fever 2000 setup and/or the introductory video. This will not effect gameplay. * NFL Fever was designed to run with a 6-button (or more) game pad, 8-button recommended. If your game pad does not have a "Start" button, you will not be able to access the paused- game menu if you're playing with more than one player. If you are playing with one player, you can press the keyboard ESC key. * In rare cases, the fonts required for NFL Fever 2000 do not install correctly during Setup, and the text in the game UI is unreadable. If this occurs, go to the \Game directory on the NFL Fever 2000 CD and copy the following files to the \windows\fonts directory on your machine: - trebuc.ttf - trebucbd.ttf - trebucbi.ttf - trebucit.ttf * If you rename a user-created Play file, the internal name that is displayed in the game remains the same as it was. * If you save a game, exit the game, and then make global changes, such as changing audibles or player attributes, then those changes will not be reflected when you load the saved game. The changes will be valid in games, seasons, and playoffs you begin after the global changes. * If the Desktop and Window background colors on your machine are both set to light gray, you will not be able to see right-click Help text in the game interface. To correct this, exit NFL Fever 2000. Then, select Start, Settings, Control Panel, Display, and Appearance. Under "Item:" select "Window" and under "Color" select white. Restart NFL Fever 2000. * If you are using any of the following video cards you may experience graphics problems. Please make sure you have the latest drivers installed on your machine before running NFL Fever 2000 with these cards: ** Matrox Mystique ** Matrox Millenium II ** Rendition Verite 1000 ** Diamond Stealth 3D 2000 ** Diamond Monster 3D ** Diamond Fire GL 1000 PRO ** Diamond Viper V330, V770, and V770 Ultra ** Creative Labs Graphics Blaster Exxtreme ** Quantum3D Obsidian2 ** Hercules Terminator Beast ** ATI 3D Rage Pro ** Voodoo II-based card ** STB Velocity 4400 ** ELSA Erasor III (TNT2) Card-specific information: * Hercules Terminator Beast video card: You may experience problems running NFL Fever 2000 in the 1024x768 resolution. To solve this problem, please make sure you are using the latest drivers. * Diamond Viper V330 video card: 3D hardware rendering may not be available. To fix this problem, download drivers from NVidia.com for the Riva 128. * Diamond Viper V770 or V770 Ultra video card on Windows 95 Gold (Windows 95 version 950) or Windows 95 OSR2 (Windows 95 version 950B or 950C): You will not be able to select the video card in the Display, Options dialog. You will only be able to play NFL Fever 2000 in software mode. * ATI 3D Rage Pro-based video card: You may experience problems with mipmapping, especially if filtering is off. We recommend that you turn mipmapping off when using this card. The mipmapping on/off selector is under Options, Display. * ATI Rage Pro video card: This card does not support AGP on Windows 95 Gold (Windows 95 version 950) or Windows 95 OSR2 (Windows 95 version 950B or 950C). In these configurations, you will only be able to run the game in 640x480 with low-resolution texture detail. * ATI Rage IIc AGP video card: You may experience poor 3D graphics performance, even with the latest drivers for this card. We do not recommend using this card with NFL Fever 2000. * NVidia RIVA 128/128ZX video card: You may experience problems with mipmapping. We recommend that you turn mipmapping off when using this card. The mipmapping on/off selector is under Options, Display. * Creative Labs Graphics Blaster Exxtreme video card: If the card's name doesn't appear in the Options, Display, Driver list, please make sure you are using the latest drivers available. * Creative Labs Graphics Blaster Exxtreme video card: If you are using old drivers, the loading screen may appear corrupted and/or off-centered. This does not affect gameplay. * Voodoo II-based video card: The game may not use hardware acceleration. To correct this, please install the latest drivers for this card. * STB Velocity 128 video card: You will encounter a performance hit before and during the first kickoff of a game and during the first play from scrimmage. After the first few plays, the performance should greatly improve. * S3 Virge VX-based video card (e.g. Diamond Stealth 3D 3000): You may experience performance problems. We recommend that you run the game in software mode. * RIVA TNT2-based video card: You may experience graphics problems if an edit-control window (such as Save Game) is open and you ALT-TAB to Windows and back to the game. If the dialog doesn't display properly after you ALT-TAB back to the game, right-click anywhere on the screen and then left-click (to bring up and dismiss help) to correct the problem. This will work for all edit-control dialogs except "Create Free Agent," so do not ALT-TAB out of that screen. * RIVA TNT2-based video card: The card may not appear in the NFL Fever 2000 Options, Display, Drivers list. The latest TNT2 reference drivers from NVidia will solve this problem. * ELSA Erasor III video card: You can fix the ALT-TAB problem described above for RIVA TNT2-based video cards by installing the latest drivers for this card from ELSA. * If your machine includes two 2D/3D cards, the second card may not appear in the Drivers list under Options, Display. Please consult your video card manufacturer for information on how to disable a 2D/3D card. Archived by OldGamesDownload.com on 6th October, 2019
